Luke was born in Newnan, Georgia, and was introduced to soccer at an early age. After a few years of playing, he choose the goalkeeper position and never looked back. Luke played club soccer with Southern Soccer Academy (SSA) and high school soccer at East Coweta. He went on to play at D1 Georgia State University from 2013-2017. After graduating, Luke coached boys varsity soccer at The Lovett School just north of Atlanta. He started graduate school at Western Illinois University in August 2018 and is currently a graduate assistant coach with the men's soccer team there.
This is what Luke has to say about his USL-2 experience:
"In summer 2016, I was fortunate to be a part of MOBA's debut season in the PDL/USL-2. Getting high- level games especially as a goalkeeper in the off-season was very important for my development. In 2017, MOBA introduced a state-of-the-art facility for the players to train and play at each day. The facility added a professional touch and it really felt like playing at the next level. I was very grateful to have played for MOBA and to have received top-class training from many wonderful coaches. These coaches impacted me in different ways and helped me realize my passion for coaching the game. MOBA has also given me the opportunity to be on the USL-2 goalkeeping staff for the 2019 season and I am looking forward to being a part of the MOBA family once again! I would like to personally thank Volker Harms and the entire MOBA Community for what they have done for me and hundreds of other players in this short time. This club's organization has an extremely bright future and I am looking forward to seeing it all unfold."
We look forward to have Luke back over the summer! #mobaalumni
